JoLee Sasakamoose

As Research Director, Dr. Sasakamoose brings extensive experience in Indigenous wellness, counselling, education, and community-based research. Her leadership helps ensure our programs are grounded in evidence and cultural responsiveness.

A powerhouse professor, visionary leader, and fierce advocate, JoLee walks the tightrope between academia and community with grace and grit. She’s the mind behind culturally responsive frameworks, a champion of First Nations health sovereignty, and a tireless mentor to the next generation of Indigenous health leaders. Whether she’s untangling university red tape, amplifying youth voices in pow wow regalia clubs, or redefining practicum standards to protect her students’ futures, JoLee leads with purpose, compassion, and fire. Her calendar may be packed, her responsibilities endless — but her heart? Always grounded in community, ceremony, care, and above all, her most cherished role: being Hunter’s mom.
